I’ve done more with this website in the last week that I had in the six months before.
One of the conclusions I have reached from using AI is that it removes a lot of the grunt work and and allows us to get to the good stuff – architecting systems, designing and building features.
So much of this work would have previously required updating templates, reading documentation/specs etc.
I know a lot of developers are missing coding, but for me I’ve never felt so free and liberated to build in years. Tooling had become burdensome to keep up to date (especially if there were breaking changes). Now I just point Codex at it the issues and say “fix”! 😁
I’m still watching for sharp edges - anything like adding API keys into the repository - some people have been caught out by that. For everything else though, it’s full steam ahead!
